608068_learning_english.jpgThe parents are the ones who will grade their children in home school, as they are the ones who teach them. For a parent to grade his or her own children can be a difficult task.

The parents while grading their children need to keep in mind that the child has grasped the subject and has mastered it. If not you can take extra lessons until he has done it.

The child knows here that if he masters the subject he will get full credit for them and this works as an incentive to the child. When you are grading your child do not emotions come in the way do it fairly and justly and do no give in if your child cries or throws tantrums. This is the time when the child will learn his responsibilities and develop the skills for future. IF the child is very young, the burden lies on you to make him understand the importance of studying for his future growth.

In some of the states, if yearly tests are required you will need to teach your child to be more competitive and it help in knowing the weak and the strong points of your child. If there are any weak points, you will know that you have to put in extra efforts on the weak points.

Some of the states also require the report card from home schooling, then keep the record of the development of the child and you can keep a record of the workdays and attendance sheets.

Try to get the tests from other parents who are also home schooling their children or you can take the test papers from the internet as per your child’s age and ability. The websites have the test papers for different age groups and mostly you can download the papers easily free of cost.

The home schooling done properly can give child the confidence required to stand out in a crowd and since he is learning about everything, his curiosity to find out about other things will highlight his intelligence.

Planning a trip will help you be prepared well in advance and you can enjoy it too along with the children. The planning involves:

1) The rates of visiting the place: If you are planning to visit a museum or a zoo and knowing, the entry rates will help you make your budget.

2) Timings: The timing they are open is also important as if you start early, you will have enough time to look round.

3) Ages: The minimum ages of the children if any like in any museum they may not allow kids aged below three.

4) The group size: How big a group can be.

5) Highlights: The highlights of the place, which is to be explained to the children.

6) Place for eating: If there is any cafeteria or a park somewhere, you can make children sit and eat.

If you are going in a group share the information with the others and be prepared. In addition, if any flyers are to be prepared can be done well in advance. Plan the place to meet and the type of transport, and to reach the place well in advance before the show timings.

Any trip is always fun but field trips are very exciting for the children. Let them enjoy by looking at the objects and let them carry some books and pens to write their experiences.
If the trip is planned properly, you can relax and enjoy your time with the children and you will get to spend precious time with children.

480418_wl_aa_2.jpgThe concept of teaching children at home starts the day they are born. As we live in a  family surrounded by our grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins and of course siblings. The children learn everything from the adult or more from their siblings as what ever they do the younger one copies.

It is seen if the elder one is a girl and the younger a boy. The younger one starts talking in the same manner i.e like a girl. It is easier for the parents in this environment to raise kids as they do not have full responsibility which is shared by grandparents and other members of the household.

Now, since last 5 to 10 years after the nuclear family started it has become a difficult proposition to take care of children and to teach them Specially where both the parents are working. But still the grandparents are always ready to take care of the children by coming to their houses or taking them to their own for the day and teaching them all.

If the parents do not have any of the grandparents living nearby they rely on the local cretch to look after the kids and teach them good manners as they are managed professionaly and the children are cared for. The teachers as they are called take care of their needs and give them their food and put them to sleep if they are very small. They take care of kids from the age of 2 years.

The parents have to look at the background of the cretch and people managing it before they enrol their kids in it and they have to keep a watch for the first few months and also they have to know how the children are adapting to the new environment.

113870_homework.jpgA home school is a school in which parents teach their children at home instead of sending them out to a public or private school. Home schooling is legal in many parts of the world. Home schooling is most popular in USA, UK, Canada and France.

Your child is a unique one; we can never compare one child with the other. Keeping this in mind, learning ability, interest and needs too differ from child to child. So setting one pattern of teaching all the children together is sometimes not successful. Due to this reason, many parents opt out to home schooling for their children.

There are many benefits of home schooling; few of them are listed below:
• There is no need to wake up your kids at a particular hour in the morning every day, rush them to school with lots of instructions and then wait for them to come back home
• You have a total influence over your kid and hence, can positively affect his growth.
• You as a parent would know about your child’s needs and so, will do it accordingly.
• You will be able to tailor the educational syllabus as per your child’s interests and needs.
• You can pay individual attention on one particular subject, which your child finds it hard to grasp. No fixed hours are given to one particular subject, timings and teaching pattern can be decided as per your child’s abilities, interests and comfort level.
• More quality time with the family, it brings children closer to the family. It also keeps your kid away from negative forces that sometimes school surroundings have.
• Lack of competition in home schooling is beneficial as the child is self-confident.
• Every parent has his or her own moral and religious teachings; this can be easily imparted in home schooling. Parents can easily integrate their own philosophies and ideas into their child’s educational syllabus.

Sometimes parents decide to home school their child because they themselves have had a very bad experience with their own public schooling. In public schools children are segregated mainly based on the age and not as per their IQ’s, they either are put under tremendous pressure or are left out easily.

Home schooling is one of the best options for schooling as only you appreciate and understand your child. If you have time, ability and motivation to teach your child then just go ahead with his education.
